I just found out that Oregon Bride Magazine posted some images from a fab photo shoot I did in a cemetery on their blog! This photo shoot was an idea that myself and the lovely Krista Teyema came up with. Of course I asked Madeline of Madi Cosmetics if she wanted to work with us, we always have a good time at shoots.

We had so much fun shooting it last fall. People who were walking thru the cemetery would look at us strangely. The models were willing to do whatever I wanted, which is always great. At the end of the shoot we left the bouquets of flowers on the graves that we used as backdrops, wanting to pay our respect for letting us share their space for a few hours.

I really loved the way the images turned out. They are much darker and moody than most of my work. Funny thing is I didn't really know how to showcase them. So I sent them off to Oregon Bride magazine and a few other publications to see what they thought. Oregon Bride really liked them but thought they weren't a good fit for the magazine at the time. So, I forgot about them and they got stored away. It's exciting to see them again, below are a few of my fav's from the session. Enjoy! This Sunday the 17th is the annual A.I. Fashion Show. As always it is going to be the fashion show of the year. I'm always so impressed and thrilled to see so many friends and family come out to support the graduating designers. Each year I photograph the event. The good ol' Art Institute. Bringing us the newest fashion designers every year! This portfolio group I worked with was inspired by Native American culture, the Old West, glamour and yoga to name a few. It always amazes me how much talent is coming out of this school! Ahh, Garnish Apparel. This gem of a store is owned by the very talented Erica. I met her over 2 year ago at a fashion show in Hillsboro. She recently opened her new store on Alberta and it's so cute! I highly recommend taking the time to visit Erica and the store. Below are images from her spring line, we captured a lot of different looks and settings around the neighborhood. I love hearing stories on how people meet. I'll tell you how I met the super cute and sassy Ti, owner of Tiki Beauty Bar. Last September I photographed Mel and Frost's wedding in Sellwood. While checking out the site with Mel, I asked, "Do you know who is doing your hair and make-up?" She said no. We drove up the street and right in front of us was this brightly painted salon. I said, "you should really go check this place out and see if they do weddings."

A couple weeks ago I worked with the lovely Van Raden sisters. Sarah, the older sister, styled her younger sister Katie for the photo shoot. We were building her portfolio to submit to different agencies around town. Doing hair and make-up was the talented Madeline of Twisted Locks Salon. We wanted to try to get some outdoor shots but it was rainy and cold earlier in the day. We still headed outside in the gusting wind to take some fun nite shots. Considering I couldn't see anything thru my lens, I'm happy with the way they turned out. Thanks ladies for a fun day!

The talented Sarah Wallace of Lucia Apparel came by to photograph her upcoming Spring line of clothing. It did seem odd photographing swimwear and skirts when it was cold and rainy outside, but it started to get me excited for the warm weather. Sarah is a graduate of the Art Institute where she studied the apparel design program. I must say, it must be a great program seeing all the talent graduating from the school!
