Weekend off!

This weekend I have both days off. No wedding to shoot, no portrait or engagement sessions. I can't remember the last time I had two days off in a row; crazy huh? So you ask, what monumental thing will you do with your time? Are you going to travel to a sandy beach? Are you heading to the mountain to hike? No, no, it's much more exciting than either of those. I will be working on landscaping our backyard with my husband. Believe it or not, I'm excited to get this project going. The first big task at hand, creating a stone patio.

Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get a cool farmer's tan that I can show off at my next shoot! Have a great weekend folks...I'll catch ya next week.

Kristin + Ryan = Married!

Yes! I was finally able to upload images from Kristin and Ryan's wedding day. They had a wonderful wedding at the Oregon Golf Club on May 25th, 2008. The weather was a little odd that day, but the rain held off and they were able to get married outside. Everyone was helping wipe down and set up the chairs in time for the guests.

The groomsmen started off their day at Vital Salon at Bridgeport Village where they got a clean shave and drank some beers. This is such a great idea for the guys to do before the ceremony. You could see that Kristin was getting a bit nervous and excited to walk down the aisle. She had a beautiful pair of shoes, shown below that she couldn't wear since she injured her toe a week prior. Bummer. They had a lovely ceremony where they put notes to each other in a wooden box with a bottle of wine, only to open in a martial emergency!

There are too many to show here, check out their slideshow for more. Enjoy and congrats to both of you!

Oh so cute!

Hope you had a great 4th of July weekend, Danen and I photographed two great weddings. One here in Portland and the other in Seattle. The weather was great both days.

I thought I'd share some birth announcement samples with you. I normally just order these for my clients and forget to show you. Aren't they the cutest things? I'm diggin' the yellow with baby blue details. Brian and Julie will be sending out the top card to all their friends and family. You may remember baby Lily from a few posts back. Enjoy!

Jessica + Oswaldo = Engagement Pics

Jessica and Oswaldo came to my studio for their engagement session back in November. Wow, that seems like forever ago! We walked around my building and had fun along the train tracks which made a great urban backdrop. These two love birds are saying I Do tomorrow, on the 4th of July. You know sparks will be flying as they celebrate with everyone at Cornielus Pass Roadhouse. See you two soon.

After we shoot their wedding, we'll crash (sleep) and wake up to drive north to Seattle for Pam & Norman's big day. I'm excited to have my husband Danen shooting with me all weekend. He does a great job at capturing candids and helping me haul around my gear. I'll be back in on Monday the 7th, have a safe and fun 4th of July everyone!

Baby Marlowe has arrived!

My husband and I are so excited for our good friends Melanie and Frost. On Thur, June 27th at 7:10am they welcomed baby Marlowe into the world! I can't wait to meet her! It seems like just yesterday we were strolling through the mall, doing what we do best; shopping, and she told me she was pregnant. Since then she was so cute during her pregnancy, enjoying every month. We were able to snap a few images of them before Marlowe arrived. Below are some of the images from their session at their home-which is a great spot to take your maternity pics-you can add more of your style and personality to the images.

Let me just say, this baby is going to be one stylish little one. From her dad who loves painting and drawing to mom who is up to date on fashion and graphics. I truly value your friendship and can't wait to create new memories with Marlowe, love you!

Don't you just love the mini canvas prints on their wall from their wedding! Fun.
I remember one of the first times Danen and I played Scrabble at their house. We knew we were going to get schooled when they each had their own customized letter holder with their names on it and the official Scrabble dictionary. Yes, you guessed it, we lost!

Juliana + Jon= Married!

I feel like I haven't posted a wedding in forever so it was high time I showed you one! The images below are from Juliana and Jon's wedding at City Bible Church. They were married on 5.17.08 which ended up to be the first wave of super hot weather. It was at least 90 degrees outside but was the best place for lighting. So, we headed to the shade and snapped away. The two of them are really sweet and kind to each other and all their family/friends. Thanks for having us be a part of your day! Enjoy.
